Filip Coppens, Ph.D.

Filip Coppens se specializuje na dějiny a náboženství starověkého Egypta v Pozdní době a řecko-římském období. Zvláštní pozornost věnuje otázkám spojeným s ptolemaiovskými a římskými chrámy v oblasti Horního Egypta (architektuře, reliéfům, ptolemaiovským nápisům). V letech 1995-2000 působil jako vědecký pracovník při Belgické archeologické a epigrafické misi v Šenhuru v Horním Egyptě (Katolická univerzita v Lovani). Od roku 2001 působí v Praze a od roku 2005 se podílí na vykopávkách Českého egyptologického ústavu v Abúsíru. F. Coppens je členem belgické Foundation Egyptologique Reine Elisabeth a členem a spolupracovníkem Egyptologica Vlaanderen. V letech 1996-2000 přednášel na Katolické univerzitě v Lovani (Oddělení starověkého Předního východu) a od r. 2003 také pravidelně přednáší na Filozofické fakultě Univerzity Karlovy.
