Mgr. Renata Landgráfová, Ph.D.

R. Landgráfová studied comparative linguistics at Harvard University, USA and Egyptology at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA. She graduated in Egyptology and General Linguistics at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague. Between 2002 and 2004, she studied in the doctorate programme at Universität Basel, Switzerland. Currently, she is working on her dissertation entitled "Topic-Focus Articulation in the Verbal Clauses of Middle Egyptian". Besides application of modern linguistic methods in Egyptology, she specialises in ancient Egyptian literature and analyses the set of fragments of faience inlays discovered in the funerary temples of King Neferefre and Queen Khetkaus II, as well as some epigraphic materials discovered during the excavations of the Czech Institute of Egyptology. She also participates in the international project of the hieratic palaeography of Old Kingdom texts (cooperation with the IFAO).
