Květa Smoláriková je egyptoložka a klasická archeoložka s archeologickou a epigrafickou praxí v Egyptě. Specializuje se na archeologii Pozdní doby a na problematiku řeckého osídlení v Egyptě a řecko-egyptské vztahy v 1. tis. př.n.l. Od roku 1993 se podílí na archeologických výzkumech v rámci české koncese v Abúsíru a od roku 2004 i na výzkumech Britského muzea (Londýn) v západní Deltě, na lokalitě Kom Firin. Od roku 2013 vede rovněž výzkumy (vedoucí koncese) v egyptské Západní poušti. Na pedagogické činnosti ČEgú FF UK participuje od akademického roku 1999-2000 (kurzy: Dějiny Egypta, Egyptská archeologie, Vztahy Egypta a Řecka v 1. tis.př.n.l.); od akademického roku 2005-6 rovněž přednáší na klasické archeologii Starý Přední východ. Je členkou The International Association of Egyptologists.
Vzdělání a stipendia
1986-1991: magisterské studium klasické archeologie a historie na FF UK (diplomová práce: Terakoty z grécko-rímskej doby v múzejných zbierkach )
1989-1994: magisterské studium egyptologie na FF UK
1994-1998: doktorské studium egyptologie na FF UK (disertační prace: Grécke importy v Egypte. Egyptsko-grécke vzťahy v 1. tisícročí p.n.l.)
2010: habilitace pro obor egyptologie, docentkou UK pro tento obor od r. 2011 (habilitační práce: Saite Forts in Egypt. Political-Military History of the Saite Dynasty)
1994 a 1996: stipendium – Německý akademický výměnný program DAAD, studijní pobyt na Univerzitě v Hamburku
1995: stipendium Rakouského egyptologického ústavu (Univerzita Vídeň) pro účast na archeologických vykopávkách v Tell el-Dabě (Egypt)
2000: stipendium na American School of Classical Studies at Athens v rámci Mellon Research Fellowships
